IT DID NOT SURPRISE GOD

Palingwendé was born without fingers on his right hand.

When he came to the ACTS centre he wanted very much to take carpentry training with the other orphans.

Without one hand he was unable to do the work and was overwhelmed with sadness. Crying he tried to hide his hand as he walked away. But mostly, he was embarrassed because he did not look like the other children.

His Mooré name, Palingwendé, means “it did not surprise God.” With your prayers and support, ACTS contacted an orthopedist to see what could be done for Palingwendé.

We are pleased to report that he was fitted with a prosthetic hand that enables him to do the work necessary for carpentry classes. He no longer feels ashamed and has gained self-esteem.

Thank you for praying for the outreach of ACTS Ministry. Your prayers and gifts allowed this transformation to take place. We are indeed thankful to God for changing the course of this young boy’s life.

UPDATE 2013

Today Palingwendé is living in the village and working as a mechanic on the road to Saonré.

We know that it is only by God’s power that we can win the battle for the lives of children.

ACTS Center in Saonré is dedicated to giving a hand up and not a handout to the forgotten ones of Burkina Faso...widows and orphans.
