Orphans like the vitamin-enriched meals

“It is very good and we enjoy it!”

This is what ACTS program coordinator heard as he visited the children at lunch time. He could see the joy on their faces.

For most of them it was impossible to have something to eat at their homes. At home, food is scarce. Meals are cut back. Some children go without food for three days at a time during the "lean time" before the current year's crops are harvested.

ACTS program coordinator related what it was like in his village growing up.

“As I talked with the children I remembered when I was a child at a school like the one at the ACTS Center in Saonré.”

“School was far from my home and I could not go back home for lunch. I was spending the whole day at school and would only eat in the evening after I returned from school.

“If someone provided a meal, even if it was just white rice without sauce, I would have never forgotten that person’s kindness.”

“What ACTS is doing for the poor children really touches my life.

“Food is vital for their well being. These children have a chance to succeed without hunger.” “Even if there were no other ACTS programs, I would be satisfied with just feeding orphans.”

If you would like to help ACTS feed hungry children, you can assist in several ways. ACTS works in partnership with two missions that provide vitamin-enriched meals for our children. Meals are given to ACTS at no cost by these missions. ACTS must pay only the shipping cost for a container of meals that will provide meals for our children for 7 months.

You can...

  1. ...send a donation to be used towards shipping meals
  2. ...volunteer to pack meals with either mission.
  3. ...request that your church become a remote site for packing meals

ACTS Center in Saonré is dedicated to giving a hand up and not a handout to the forgotten ones of Burkina Faso...widows and orphans.
